Hasso, the brand representing our entry price range of DOC Douro wines, was awarded the Trophy (top prize), in the category New Design for a Wine Brand Range at The Wine Design Challenge 2020. This competition is organised by the prestigious British magazine, Drinks International. The Hasso brand reflects the youthfulness and freshness of these wines, which are ideal for food pairings. It is part of a project being undertaken at the historic flagship property in the Douro, Quinta do Convento de São Pedro das Águias and is inspired by the Kranemann family’s trusty four-legged friend, a Rhodesian ridgeback who goes by the name of Hasso. The judges highlighted the “clean and modern” design, adding “The pastel colours are fresh and different for wine”. The branding and label design were the work of the FBA. a graphic design consultancy, located in Coimbra and in charge of the Kranemann Wine Estates’ visual identity and branding. In addition to the recognition of the Hasso brand, two of the Estates’ Port wine labels won prizes: the Kranemann brand, which was awarded a silver in the New Design for a Fortified Wine Brand Range category and the Senhora do Convento brand, which received a bronze in the Repackaged Fortified Wine Brand Design category.
