The harvest has already begun at the Quinta Convento de S. Pedro das Águias!
As usual, the first to be harvested was the Bastardo grape variety, one of the earliest in the Douro.
With its rapid and delicate ripening, Bastardo requires extra attention in the vineyard and in the winery. It is a grape that surprises with its lightness and elegance, producing wines with a fresher and more delicate profile, which stand out from the more structured classic Douro wines.
The start of the harvest is always a moment of great excitement on the estate. It marks the beginning of intense weeks of work and sharing, where each bunch picked by hand represents a whole year of dedication and care in the vineyard.
